I am trying to focus my aesthetic. There are so many things I want to make. I am continually making lists. I want a cityscape in our apartment.
This is by
Tracy Snelling. I saw her in a book at Barnes and Noble last year. She should make a movie.
I am trying to go in a new direction with my work. So I am in the gathering inspiration phase. I always have my hands in too many pies. I have been reading Wendy Mullin's book
SewU. She's the creator of
Built by Wendy and I love her clothes. I am broke so I want to make my own. We'll see. I have a baby resting on my chest right now.
I am now regretting my haircut. I've been having a real problem getting a satisfying haircut here in Buffalo. Without naming names, I just got a totally mediocre haircut for which I waited 2 hours from start to finish for. No joke. It was totally infuriating. I then had to run through the rain (ruining the boring blowout) to an atm because they don't take credit cards ( what year is this?) all while my baby and husband waited in the car. Luckily she slept while he read.
Back to the subject of making clothes... My other motivation for wanting to learn comes from
Katie.I love what she makes for her kids. Her blog is very beautiful.
I miss teaching a little. I got to do a lot of experimenting for projects. Plus the kids did very inspiring work. This is a year or so old, but it is the best self portrait I have ever seen. It completely represents the kid who did it.
I just love that floating head.
On a last note, that Halloween picture made me want to put up this one of my sister from a few years ago. She's very clever with her costumes. This is her as a lunch lady.
My goal is to have some new handmade things to post next time and to be back asap!
