Well, it's been two months since I've updated this because I had a baby. I am holding her right now as I type. Here are some things I've been working on.
I couldn't find any photo albums I liked and I wanted to make an anniversary gift for my husband, so I am making my own. I had this matte board so I am using it as a cover. Inside I have an rsvp envelope from our invitations to hold a note, and some framed pictures from our wedding. I'm going to add written anecdotes and pictures from the whole year.
Speaking of weddings, I am very excited to pick up the latest Martha Stewart Weddings and see pictures from Laura Normandin's wedding. I love her site wren handmade
I am totally blown away by these corsages. So magical. I am so glad she put up links to the sites where she bought these fabric flowers. I made my own corsage pin a few months ago. It feels shameful next to these.
The photos from her site are so beautiful. She had this dessert display with these cupcakes topped with sugar flowers from the Sugar Flower Shop.
Her site is so inspiring. I loved that she used Gwen Frostic cards for her invitations. I was lucky enough to find a stationary set by her at a Salvation Army once.
Here'a a little elephant ornament I made.
and here are some pins I made.
I finally got around to putting some bird ornaments on etsy . I made a little gift package for girls. It comes with a bird ornament and a hair pin.
Next in my plan is to draw more. I don't have much to put up on etsy by way of drawings and paintings other than some pencil portraits. I also want to work on this dimensional piece more. I had it up for the show in Toronto, but it looks incomplete to me. It needs a roof/third floor.
I am trying to think ahead for some craft shows I'd like to do and I like the idea of having displays like this that aren't for sale, they just sort add to an environment I'm trying to achieve. I like the idea of creating a little world where the things I made came from. A great example of this feeling is from Something's hiding in Here. This is from this year's Renegade Show in Brooklyn.
