These are photos from the Hearts and Crafts Show on September 26th. I always feel a bit frenzied at the beginning of any show, so I am always disappointed after the fact that I skimp on pictures. I just got these two, but close ups will come soon. Some of these things will go on etsy, some will come with me to the Second Stories show in Novermber (info here).
I have had a lot of luck lately at thrift stores here in town. I bought the above house for $1! It was unfinished and missing the bottom floor, but I just took it to Home depot, had a new piece of wood cut, hammered in some new nails and painted it. It goes on my daughter's dresser between shows and holds little knick knacks and pictures. Here's a little glass I bought
And my baby sweater collection keeps growing. I have sold quite a few at shows, but there are some I can't part with
I like collecting ideas for things to make for kids (especially inexpensive ways like making something old new). I am dying to do something like this
This lady (I'm seaching for the link, I'll get it later) took a Bob the Builder tent, removed the plasticy fabric and used it as a template for a new tent built on the same frame. This is so smart!
Also, this is an idea I was already working on, but this is a simpler way to do it. I have been using styrofoam as a base for my clouds and then covering them with batting (to hang above my daughter's crib)
Their idea is way easier, but I am thinking of sticking with mine because I think they will last longer.
